TTC NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP IT TELECOMS

TTC mobile, a leading IT and Telecoms training institute in Nigeria, is currently offering scholarship opportunities to suitably qualified candidates to receive training in IT and Telecoms. TTC National Technology Scholarship will pay for training fees in full or in parts. IT/Telecoms skills is now a must for science graduates seeking jobs in IT, Telecoms, Oil and Gas companies and banks, this might be your opportunity.
Why get IT or Telecoms training
Companies all over the world have come to realise the benefits of IT to business productivity and are increasing deploying IT infrastructure to improve business efficiency and to cut down costs. This has created demand for highly skilled people to manage and maintain the IT infrastructure.
The result is that forward-looking companies like Banks, Oil and Gas companies, and IT firms are looking for highly skilled people to manage and maintain their huge investments in IT infrastructure.
The high demand for Telecommunications services and bandwidth has also led to a boom in telecoms jobs. However, as many may have found out telecoms jobs is not for everybody. To secure Telecoms jobs you need practical skills and probably one or two international Telecoms certification to prove such practical Telecoms skills.
Enter TTC mobile
Because of poor facilities in higher institutions in Nigeria and the disconnect between higher institutions and industry, it is highly impossible for graduates to acquire relevant IT and Telecoms skills in higher institution. Therefore, graduates enrol for training programs from specialised Telecoms training institutes.
TTC mobile is a leading Telecoms/IT training institute in Nigeria offering courses leading to various international Telecoms certifications. However, cost of receiving excellent Telecoms training is expensive and not everyone can afford it.
TTC mobile National Technology Scholarship
TTC National Technology Scholarship is aimed at subsidising IT/Telecoms training to enable more people to acquire relevant Telecoms skills. According to TTC mobile public campaign ”Training will empower you with relevant skills for employment, as well as open your eyes to possibilities and liberate your creative mind.”
This Telecoms Scholarship training is in two categories. CatA training will take place in Lagos and will pay for Telecoms training in full. This includes accommodation and feeding during training plus a one-way transportation allowance back to your base. Beneficiaries of CatA will make no payment outside the N3,000 registration fee.
CatB training will take place in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Enugu, and Kano and will subsidise your Telecoms training. Beneficiaries of CatB will pay between N10,000 and N30,000 for Telecoms training.
This Telecoms Training will cover areas of specialisation like:

    * Option 1: Telecommunications Engineering leading TIA certification
    * Option 2: Enterprise Routing & Switching leading Cisco & Huawei certifications
    * Option 3: BTS Engineering for GSM leading to BTS certification

How to enrol
Pay a registration fee of N3,000 in favour of TTC mobile, visit or call contacts below for account details and registration details. Application closes on February 13 2009.
You will be invited to attend scholarship tests, which will take place on February 21 2009 at the centre you registered in.
Depending on your test score, you will be awarded CatA or CatB Telecoms scholarship.
Benefits of Telecoms training scholarship
You will get the right Telecoms skill that will make you competitive and relevant in the Telecoms industry. According to TTC, Telecoms companies and recruitment firms like Options Consult and ACC Specs will be at the training to take CVs of participants.
In addition, all trainees will be given 2009 dumps & simulations for all Telecoms certifications covered in this Telecoms training, like CCNA, CCNP, Huawei, BTS, & TIA certifications.

Buy Sell Liberty Reserve LR e-currency exchangers

Liberty Reserve is an e-currency for easily making and receiving payments for goods and services over the internet. Once you open your Liberty Reserve account, the next step is funding it. Liberty Reserve SA does not sell the LR e-currency directly; rather you fund your account by buying the e-currency from other LR account holders or funding through an independent Liberty Reserve exchange provider. Here we will provide information about some Nigerian based Liberty Reserve exchange providers. We will focus on Liberty Reserve exchangers who are members of the Global Digital Currency Association (GDCA) and those recognised at the Liberty Reserve website.open your free Liberty Reserve account

Liberty Reserve independent exchangers are people or companies that buy or sell LR e-currency for a fee. Liberty Reserve exchangers make funding your LR account easy because they support a wide range of remittance methods (bank wires, money orders, cash, bank deposit, credit/debit card, PayPal, Western Union and lots more). If you can find an independent Liberty Reserve exchanger in your country, you may be able to buy LR e-currency with cash deposits in local banks or even over the counter. For example, most LR exchangers in Nigeria accept cash deposits (Naira) in bank to fund your Liberty Reserve account.
Note that independent exchangers as their name imply are independent and are not under the control of Liberty Reserve SA. However, Liberty Reserve SA recommends that you deal with LR exchangers that are members of the Global Digital Currency Association (GDCA). GDCA monitors, ranks, and rates e-currency exchangers who are its members. Hence dealing with Liberty Reserve exchangers who are members of GDCA is better and less risky. A number of Nigerian LR exchangers are members of GDCA.
Remember, you must have a Liberty Reserve account before you can buy the LR e-currency. Opening an account is easy and free; you simply fill out the application form and login to your account to activate it. Once this is done you can buy or sell Liberty Reserve. Most exchangers in Nigeria now require verification before they can do business with you. This is in line with the CBN's 'know your customer' directive. Depending on the Liberty Reserve exchanger, you may be required to provide an ID (International Passport, Driver's License, National ID), Passport sized photo, and proof of address (Electric bill, Water bill, recent bank statement).

Recognised Liberty Reserve Exchangers in Nigeria
You can exchange Liberty Reserve from any account holder. But if you have no friend to buy from, there are independent Liberty Reserve exchangers who specialise in buying and selling the LR e-currency. Here are a few of them. Note that this is not an endorsement of these services. We will focus on Liberty Reserve exchangers who are members of the Global Digital Currency Association (GDCA) and those recognised at the Liberty Reserve website. These Liberty Reserve exchangers will take between 6 to 48 hours to fulfill your order.
Africash International
Africash International deals in a number of e-currencies. In addition to buying and selling Liberty Reserve, Africash International also deals in AlertPay, PayPal, Webmoney, etc. One thing that we like about Africash International is that you require no verification if you are buying Liberty Reserve of value less than $500 (N85,000). This is great if you just want a fast one time payment into your Liberty reserve account. Africash International is a member of the GDCA.

Liberty reserve paypal,Liberty reserve account,Benefits of Liberty Reserve to Merchants

Liberty Reserve is an e-currency for easily making and receiving payments for goods and services over the internet. If you are planning selling stuff online, Liberty Reserve is one of the payment solutions worth considering. Liberty Reserve is one of a few payment solutions available to people with no access to credit/debit cards. Payment is instant and irreversible reducing cost for merchants. Merchants that allow the use of Liberty Reserve as a means of payment for products and services on their website enable millions of internet users without credit/debit cards to shop online.
Receiving payments online via Liberty Reserve is as simple as opening an account. Once you open a Liberty Reserve account, you can start receiving money immediately. Here are a few benefits that merchants may derive by accepting Liberty Reserve as a means of payment.
receiving payment is easy and fast
You can start receiving payments online as soon as you open a Liberty Reserve account. Liberty Reserve provides account holders with a simple web link to paste on their websites. This link when clicked by a visitor to your site will provide a page for them to initiate a secured payment to your Liberty Reserve account. This means that every Liberty Reserve account holder is effectively a merchant. You pay no extra fee to start receiving money via Liberty Reserve.
The Liberty Reserve payment link provides you with an easy solution for receiving payments online, however when you need a more powerful ecommerce application or you have a wide range of products and services and have a shopping cart integrated, then this simple link will not be enough. In such situation, you can use the Liberty Reserve shopping cart interface (SCI) to build a more functional online store. Liberty Reserve shopping cart interface is based on html forms and enables a merchant to integrate their shopping cart system to the Liberty Reserve payment system.
Payments are instant and final
Once a payment is made by a customer your Liberty Reserve account is updated. You do not have to wait till the end of the week or months. Once a payment is made to your account from any part of the world your account will be updated instantly. Liberty Reserve does not support charge backs like debit/credit cards. This is an advantage for merchants. This simply means that once a customer pays for a product he/she cannot deny execution and you can safely account for the payment. In some payment systems a customer can deny execution and the merchant may be required to refund the payment somehow, this might be inconveniencing and expensive. By making payments final, Liberty Reserve is simple and cheaper to manage.
A large number of potential customers (global payment)
Liberty Reserve is one of a few electronic payment solutions available to people without credit/debit cards or people that live in countries where credit/debit cards are inexistent or very hard to come by. The number of such people runs into billions. In Nigeria alone there are millions of people without a bank account and without any credit or debit card.
Liberty Reserve is probably the only option open to these Nigerians to pay for products and services on the internet. The ease at which Liberty Reserve can be acquired and the low transaction cost makes the system very popular for consumers. Liberty Reserve electronic payment system is available to anyone with an internet access anywhere. Accepting Liberty Reserve as a means of payment, for your products/services will give you access to all these people.
easily convert earnings to your local currency
There is no point making electronic money if you cannot easily convert it into cash. There are lots of independent Liberty Reserve exchangers that accept various remittance methods to convert your Liberty Reserve into cash in your local currency. In Nigeria, there are a number of independent Liberty Reserve exchange services that exchange Liberty Reserve for cash deposits in banks (Naira). There are also similar services for your country. Other channels that independent exchange services use for exchanging Liberty Reserve include bank wire, PayPal, Western Union, money order, Money gram and lots more.

Here is brief about NYSC, read it to know what to expect.
But, What is NYSC?

NYSC was created to foster unity among Nigeria’s about 250 ethnic groups and to create a sense of nationhood and selfless service among young people. There use to be two NYSC batches, namely batch A and batch B. However, with so many graduates waiting for NYSC call up, NYSC now have three batches, batch A, batch B, and batch C.

The NYSC programmes runs for about 12 months and during that period, graduates of Universities and Polytechnic are deployed to serve in states that are not their state of origin. NYSC allowance currently stands at about N9,500, although there are seruios moves to increase it.

The NYSC programme is divided into four main stages namely:

NYSC Orientation:

NYSC corps members are camped for three weeks in an NYSC orientation camp where they live a militarylike regimented life. Events at NYSC camps include parades, Man ‘O’ War activities, and drills (every morning), Lectures on different topics like Entrepreneurship, Job search tips, Self employment, National security, Road safety, Fire fighting, HIV/Aids, Environmental issues, MDGs, NYSC aims, and so on are organised at the NYSC orientation camps for corps members. At NYSC orientation camp, corps members are divided into different groups called Platoons. These platoons compete against each other in activities like sports, dance, drama, beauty pageants, and so on.

There is also an endurance race usually towards the end of NYSC orientation camping so that most corps members will be fit for the race. A campfire night party is also part of the NYSC orientation programme. NYSC orientation begins with an induction and ends with a winding down parade ceremony. At the winding down ceremony, NYSC corps members will be given posting letters to their places of primary assignment. NYSC Camping is generally fun.

Primary Assignment:

After the fun in camp, NYSC corps members will now face the challenges of everyday Nigeria. During Primary assignment, NYSC corps members are posted to organisations to work for about 10 months. Most corps members are posted to schools where they are expected to help in providing teaching services.

The first challenge NYSC corps members face is rejections. Most organisations reject corps members posted to them. The next is accommodation, immediately followed by how to survive with a grossly inadequate N9,500 (63.33 USD) monthly allowance.

NYSC primary assignment takes place simultaneously with NYSC community development service (CDS)

Community Development Service, NYSC CDS:

CDS is at the core of the NYSC scheme, each corps member is expected to belong to an NYSC CD group. During CD, NYSC corps members use their skills in selfless service of communities in which they are deployed.

NYSC corps members usually focus their CDS on some challenging issues in their community of deployment some include Adult literacy; Charity visits to hospitals, prisons, old people’s homes and children homes; Sanitation; construction/provision of basic infrastructure; and so on.

Passing out ceremony:

Passing out ceremony is the last stage of the NYSC scheme. This consists of one or two weeks of events, which ends with a passing out parade. Events usually take the format of lectures on some topics similar to the one at the NYSC orientation camps but focus is on preparing NYSC corps members for the challenges they will face in Nigeria.

Lectures focus on issues like NAPEP, NDE, Self-employment, Entrepreneurship, preparing winning CVs/resumes, Tips on Job interviews, and such related topics. NYSC secretariats use this period to study experiences of corps members with the scheme.

NYSC corps members (mostly those posted in state capitals) also practice for the passing out parade during this period. After passing out parade, NYSC discharge certificate is issued to successful corps member. For all successful NYSC corps members a chapter has just ended and a new chapter is about to begin.

Challenges facing NYSC

However, NYSC currently face many challenges, some of which include underfunding, large number of graduates above what was anticipated by founders of the programme, and rejection of NYSC corps members on primary assignment.

The biggest challenge for NYSC today is what happens to the thousands of graduates that pass out of NYSC programme each year. It is not right for government to allow those who have served this country meritoriously to languish in the hopeless job markets of Nigeria.

The federal government should create social welfare schemes for passed-out NYSC corps members, and pay current corps members even better allowances. NYSC should also be restructured to reflect today’s reality.

Pre-registration for NYSC orientation can be done on the internet at the NYSC website:

Locations of NYSC camps may also be found at these websites. You may also find NYSC schedule for the different batches on the NYSC programmes like NYSC Batch A 2010, NYSC Batch B 2010, NYSC Batch C 2010, and Batch A, 2011. NYSC Batch A 2011 orientation will run from March 9 to November 30, 2011.

An automated teller machine (ATM), or simply cash machine, is a computerised telecommunications device that provides the clients  of a financial institution with access to financial transactions in a public space without the need for a cashier, human clerk or bank teller. ATMs are known by various other names including automatic banking machine, cash machine, and various regional varients derived from trademarks on ATM systems held by particular banks- Software for atm, download atm software, free atm software .

On most modern ATMs, the customer is identified by inserting a plastic ATM card with a magnetic stripe or a plastic smart card with a chip, that contains a unique card number and some security information such as an expiration date or CVVC (CVV). Authentication is provided by the customer entering a personal identification number (PIN)- Software for atm, download atm software, free atm software .

Using an ATM, customers can access their bank accounts in order to make cash withdrawals, credit card cash advances, and check their account balances as well as purchase prepaid cellphone credit. If the currency being withdrawn from the ATM is different from that which the bank account is denominated in (e.g.: Withdrawing Japanese Yen from a bank account containing US Dollars), the money will be converted at a wholesale exchange rate. Thus, ATMs often provide the best possible exchange rate for foreign travelers and are heavily used for this purpose as well. Software for atm, download atm software, free atm software

Send free SMS text messages to mobile phones, send sms, send sms free, free sms mobile :Short Messaging Service, SMS is one of the most popular means of communication today, more popular than email. Unlike the email, most people have gotten used to paying for their text messages. However, today there are services that offer free text messaging services. If you plan sending lots of text messages, bulk SMS services offer cheap SMS to mobile phones.

We are all used to sending free e-mails. You just log in to your account and send the email to any account you want without paying the e-mail service provider. For SMS however, we are used to paying for them. However, you can now send free SMS with your mobile phone or computer to any mobile phone in the world.

Here are some free SMS services that can be used to send SMS to mobile phones in Nigeria. All of them can be used to send free text messages internationally. Check for supported countries or networks before sending free text messages.
You can send free SMS with your PC or mobile phone. Note that to send free SMS with your mobile phone, you will need a mobile phone with at least GPRS support. Some free text services will require a browser that can access full websites, while others can be accessed with simple WAP browsers.

Before using a free text messaging service, make sure that the network and/or country you wish to send the free SMS text to is supported by the service. Also, make sure you read the terms and condition of the free SMS service, just to be sure your number is safe.

Note that if you send an SMS to a network that is not supported by the free SMS service, you will be billed for the service.
Here is a brief description of the free text messaging services listed in this page.

Wadja

Wadja is a social networking website that allows members to send free text messages with their mobile phone or PC to any network in the world and in Nigeria. Visit www.wadja.com for more information about Wadja free SMS text messaging service.

Visit  for more information about text4free free SMS service.

How does free text messaging work

Most services that offer genuine free SMS use it as a marketing ploy to attract visitors to their website. Once on their site and enjoying their free SMS service, they hope you will try some of their non-free services. This may include music, games, and ringtone downloads. Free SMS text services also make money through advertising. Therefore, if this marketing strategy fails for your free SMS provider, they will be out of business.

To reduce cost of your SMS, free text messaging services buy cheaper bulk SMS from different network providers upfront, enabling you to send SMS free as part of their bulk account with the service providers. Therefore, although you get it free, the free SMS provider pays for it but at a cheaper rate because they buy the SMS in bulk.

Beware of some free SMS services

Some free SMS services are not genuine. They claim to offer you free SMS service, but all they are interested in is your phone number, which they will use to send you Ads or scams to your mobile phones. So, before using any free SMS service, make sure it is genuine.

Solar Energy Resources: Solar power

Solar power is the conversion of sunlight into electricity, either directly using photovoltaics (PV), or indirectly using concentrated solar power (CSP). Concentrated solar power systems use lenses or mirrors and tracking systems to focus a large area of sunlight into a small beam. Photovoltaics converts light into electric current using the photoelectric effect.
Solar Energy Resources: Solar power:We've used the Sun for drying clothes and food for thousands of years, but only recently have we been able to use it for generating power.
The Sun is 150 million kilometres away, and amazingly powerful.
Just the tiny fraction of the Sun's energy that hits the Earth (around a hundredth of a millionth of a percent) is enough to meet all our power needs many times over.
In fact, every minute, enough energy arrives at the Earth to meet our demands for a whole year - if only we could harness it properly.
Currently in the UK there are grants available to help you install solar power in your home.

How it works:(Solar Energy Resources: Solar power)
There are three main ways that we use the Sun's energy:-
1 Solar Cells Solar Energy Resources: Solar power
(really called "photovoltaic", "PV" or "photoelectric" cells) that convert light directly into electricity.
Solar panels on a canal boat (Solar Energy Resources: Solar power)

In a sunny climate, you can get enough power to run a 100W light bulb from just one square metre of solar panel.
This was originally developed in order to provide electricity for satellites, but these days many of us own calculators powered by solar cells.

2 Solar water heating, where heat from the Sun is used to heat water in glass panels on your roof.

This means you don't need to use so much gas or electricity to heat your water at home.

Water is pumped through pipes in the panel. The pipes are painted black, so they get hotter when the Sun shines on them. The water is pumped in at the bottom so that convection helps the flow of hot water out of the top.
This helps out your central heating system, and cuts your fuel bills. However, with the basic type of panel shown in the diagram you must drain the water out to stop the panels freezing in the winter. Some manufacturers have systems that do this automatically.(Solar Energy Resources: Solar power)

Solar water heating is easily worthwhile in places like California and Australia, where you get lots of sunshine. Mind you, as technology improves it's becoming worthwhile in the UK Solar Energy Resources: Solar power.

Here's a more advanced type of solar water heating panel in Solar Energy Resources: Solar power. The suppliers claim that in the UK it can supply 90% of a typical home's hot water needs from April to November.
This "Thermomax" panel is made of a set of glass tubes. Each contains a metal plate with a blue-ish coating to help it absorb solar energy from IR to UV, so that even in diffuse sunlight you get a decent output. The air has been removed from the glass tubes to reduce heat loss, rather like a thermos flask Solar Energy Resources: Solar power.

Up the back of the metal plate is a "heat pipe", which looks like a copper rod but contains a liquid that transfers heat very quickly to the top of the glass tube. A water pipe runs across the top of the whole thing and picks up the heat from the tubes.in Solar Energy Resources: Solar power

3 Solar Furnaces use a huge array of mirrors to concentrate the Sun's energy into a small space and produce very high temperatures.
There's one at Odeillo, in France, used for scientific experiments.
It can achieve temperatures up to 3,000 degrees Celsius.
Solar furnaces are basically huge "solar cookers".
A solar cooker can be used in hot countries to cook food. This one is in the UK, making tea and coffee, although it does take a long time!

Solar cooker Solar Energy Resources: Solar power
Solar cells provide the energy to run satellites that orbit the Earth. These give us satellite TV, telephones, navigation, weather forecasting, the internet and all manner of other facilities.
The graphic shows a GPS satellite. A satellite navigation receiver in a car gets signals from a whole host of these and works out it's own position.
Find out more about GPS navigation at howstuffworks.com
In California, the Solar One power station uses the Sun's heat to make steam, and drive a generator to make electricity. The station looks a little like the Odeillo solar furnace , except that the mirrors are arranged in -circles around the "power tower".
'Solar One' power station, California. Click to enlarge

As the Sun moves across the sky, the mirrors turn to keep the rays focussed on the tower, where oil is heated to 3,000 degress Celsius, The heat from the oil is used to generate steam, which then drives a turbine, which in turn drives a generator capable of providing 10kW of electrical power.in Solar Energy Resources: Solar power
Solar One was very expensive to build, but as fossil fuels run out and become more expensive, solar power stations may become a better option.
There are solar powered electric boats on Coniston Water in the Lake District, England.

Video clip: How PV solar panels are made
One idea that is being considered is to build solar towers.
The idea is very simple - you build a big greenhouse, which is warmed by the Sun. In the middle of the greenhouse you put a very tall tower i ndesigning Solar Energy Resources: Solar power.

The hot air from the greenhouse will rise up this tower, fast - and can drive turbines along the way.
This could generate significant amounts of power, especially in countries where there is a lot of sunshine and a lot of room, such as Australia.
  • Advantages of Solar Energy Resources: Solar power
  • Solar energy is free - it needs no fuel and produces no waste or pollution.

  • In sunny countries, solar power can be used where there is no easy way to get electricity to a remote place.

  • Handy for low-power uses such as solar powered garden lights and battery chargers, or for helping your home energy bills these are found in Solar Energy Resources: Solar power.

How to watch premier league on a foriegn satllite, satllite tv,map satllite,

Football fans and pub owners alike were crossing their fingers and holding their breath in anticipation, following the news that Karen Murphy (landlady of the Red White and Blue in Southsea) stood on the verge of a landmark ruling that would allow her to legally show Premier League football matches to her punters without a Sky TV subscription.
While on one hand it means that Sky Sports packages may become drastically cheaper in order to stay competitive, it also means that using foreign satellite dishes to pick up free Premiership football may soon become far more mainstream. It's relatively inexpensive to set up, and offers many matches not available on Sky Sports, particularly 3pm Saturday kick-offs.

It's a moderately complex process, but this beginners guide will point you in the right direction for viewing football via foreign sports channels, and offer some links to where to find more info should you want to delve a little deeper into international satellite TV.

A satellite dish - This is used to pick up the broadcast signal and pipe it into a set-top box. You need one at least 78cm in diameter, but a bit bigger than that, around 100cm, is probably optimal for residential use. Signals from European channels tend to be weaker than UK ones, hence the need for a larger dish.
Dishes can be manually pointed at the orbiting broadcast satellites, or you can purchase a motorised one that does the hard work for you, particularly useful if you plan on accessing channels from multiple satellite sources (more on that later). We'd recommend the
110cm Hi-Gain Satellite Dish from System Sat (£60, Amazon seller) or the 80cm Satgear Anthracite Satellite Dish (£31.95, Amazon seller).
A satellite receiver - These are designed to pick up European channels, perfect for getting Premier League matches, as well as La Liga, Serie A football and other European competitions. There are plenty of receivers to choose from, but a quick search around the web shows Technomate branded ones such as the TM-3000D (£53.75, Amazon seller) to be well recommended.
A universal LNB and cable - The LNB (Low Noise Block-downconverter) sits on an arm pointing at the dish, and is used to focus the satellite signal, converting it a lower frequency which your receiver can take via coaxial cable.
A viewing card or Cam - These are used like a Sky Viewing card, and are needed to de-scramble encrypted signals. Different cards and Cams provide access to different channels, and are also needed If you're looking to access Pay-TV channels.Spend a bit of time researching the channels you're after before buying a card or Cam, but one good place to pick them up is www.pulsat.com. They also provide receivers too.
How To Set It Up:
Setting up a satellite dish can be a potentially frustrating process, though the actual steps aren't necessarily that complex to carry out. Either way, if you're not particularly comfortable with installing equipment (or are afraid of heights if you're planning on wall mounting your dish on an outer wall), you're probably best off getting a professional to come around and install it. Megasat offer a UK wide installation service, but for a comprehensive list of engineers check out the Confederation of Aerial Industries trade lobby website.
Alternatively, there's the good-old-fashioned DIY method. Thankfully you don't necessarily have to wall mount a dish, so long as you've got a bit of open ground in your garden that can house it and point between East and West without being obscured by trees or towerblocks. Either way however, wall mounting is preferable, even if merely not to clutter your finely-mowed lawn.
From here you need to point the dish towards one of the satellites throwing out the appropriate footy channels. The best for receiving Premiership Football on are Hispasat, Astra 1 and Hotbird. A great list of channels and kick-off times can be found on Liveonsat.com, which also handily shows which satellites you'll need to be pointing your dish at to view the appropriate channels. Many matches will be broadcast on free-to-air channels, though some will require a viewing card, as mentioned earlier.
If you've nabbed yourself a nifty motorised satellite dish, it can be programmed to automatically point at numerous orbiting satellites. It's a process that can take some hours to fine tune, but it saves a lot of manual faffing about.
Otherwise, it's time to grab your compass, and maybe even a satellite signal strength monitor, and get tweaking your satellite direction. A whole list of satellite positions and the channels they pick up can be grabbed from www.satellitetvlinks.net (to whom we are indebted to for help in researching this post), but the main three we mentioned earlier are positioned at:
Hotbird: 13 degrees East
Astra 1: 19.2 degrees East
Hispasat: 30 degress West
Remember, if you haven't grabbed a motorised dish you'll have to manually realign it every time you want to pick up channels from a different orbiting satellite. Alternatively, look into grabbing a dish with multiple LNBs built in and then align each of those individually, or buy a compatible multi-LNB arm and attach it to your dish. Most decent receivers will have a little signal strength icon that will help you fine tune the dish placement to the best possible angle.

A message from Adewunmi Ogunsanya, Chairman of MultiChoice Nigeria

As sub-Saharan Africa's second-largest economy, the continent's biggest oil producer and Africa’s most populous country, Nigeria is an extremely important market for MultiChoice. Through the MultiChoice Nigeria joint venture, we are fully committed to helping drive positive change in this fast growing economy, and to providing world class services to our large and rapidly growing subscriber base.

To date, our biggest accomplishments are the solid relationships we have managed to forge with our many partners and stakeholders across the country. Federal, State and Local Government, the regulators, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and the Nigerian Copyrights Commission (NCC), and our broadcaster partners are among the most valued of these. We continue to work closely with them to develop policies, legislation and regulations that provide an enabling environment and contribute to the growth and development of the broadcasting, and especially pay television, industry in Nigeria.

Dstv aim to continue enriching the lives of its citizens through our world class Pay -TV service, our development of local production industries and dealerships, and our support for education in Nigeria.(Dstv multichoice, multichoice, dstv africa, dstv guide in Nigeria)

MultiChoice was the first to introduce pay television on the continent and, in keeping with our spirit of innovation and creativity, we were also the first in Nigeria to launch a digital dual-view decoder; the first to commission a fully “made for Africa” African channel (AfricaMagic); the first to commission a Direct-to-Home (DTH) television uplink facility in Nigeria; and the first to establish a national call centre to attend to subscriber enquiries or issues.

Rapid expansion and a steadfast belief in a bright future for our business in Nigeria have ensured that we continue to invest significantly, not only in our people and operations, but also in the broader Nigerian economy and its communities.(Dstv multichoice, multichoice, dstv africa, dstv guide in Nigeria)

The company has invested more than N13 billion (US$100 million) in Nigerian content since our entry into the market in 1994. Today, we directly employ more than 300 Nigerians to deliver our products and services, and have created many more indirect jobs along the value chain, including providing employment for more than 1 000 Nigerians through our Enterprise Development initiatives.(Dstv multichoice, multichoice, dstv africa, dstv guide in Nigeria)

In order to continually improve our service offering, we invest in our operations and infrastructure on an ongoing basis. With this in mind, we have made substantial investments in new products, services, payment methods, content and technologies. In addition, where possible we buy the properties that host our offices.
Dstv Commitment
MultiChoice Africa will continue to lead the development of a vibrant and diverse media and television industry, keeping Nigeria at the forefront of the digital technology revolution.(Dstv multichoice, multichoice, dstv africa, dstv guide in Nigeria)

In April 2008, Nigeria became one of the first African countries to benefit from revolutionary mobile television technology with the launch of DStv Mobile, a partnership between cellular operator MTN and Details Nigeria.(Dstv multichoice, multichoice, dstv africa, dstv guide in Nigeria)

DStv Mobile from MTN re-affirms the DStv brand as a leader in innovation, and its commitment to continuously providing Nigerians with innovative television, control and enjoyment of their viewing. Using DVB-H - regarded as the world’s leading mobile broadcast technology standard – DStv Mobile allows for the digital terrestrial broadcast of a specially compiled package of live television channels to a mobile phone.(Dstv multichoice, multichoice, dstv africa, dstv guide in Nigeria)

MultiChoice Nigeria also believes it is important for corporate Africa to make a contribution to the continent’s development. Education and access to information are key to the development and growth of a nation, and therefore we have invested in MultiChoice Resource Centres in schools across the country. These centres provide input into education through the depth and breadth of DStv’s educational and documentary programming. Students in 80 various schools are now able to better understand sophisticated concepts that are difficult to grasp without a visual experience. We will be making further investments into resource centres in schools across Nigeria in future.(Dstv multichoice, multichoice, dstv africa, dstv guide in Nigeria)

To further bolster MultiChoice Nigeria’s investment in the education sector, we have adopted a school in the Ikorodu division of Lagos and are pledging $175,000 to the school. This forms part of The Adopt a School initiative introduced by the Lagos state government,(Dstv multichoice, multichoice, dstv africa, dstv guide in Nigeria)

MultiChoice Nigeria has also collaborated with the Sickle Cell Foundation of Nigeria, a non governmental and non-profit making organisation dedicated to the care and control of Sickle Cell Disorder in Nigeria. MultiChoice Nigeria decided to partner with the foundation, located in Surulere in Lagos, to help with the introduction and coordination of services relevant to the management and control of the disorder. In order to broaden the reach of the message, we will film short clips of anaemic suffers discussing the disorder and the impact it has on their lives. These clips will be aired on terrestrial television. Additionally, MultiChoice Nigeria has donated a Toyota Avanza car to the foundation as well as a complete DStv package for the Surulere centre.(Dstv multichoice, multichoice, dstv africa, dstv guide in Nigeria)

Local Content(Dstv multichoice, multichoice, dstv africa, dstv guide in Nigeria)

There is increasing demand across the continent for the localization of TV content. We are committed to creating and supporting African content, made by Africans, for Africans.(Dstv multichoice, multichoice, dstv africa, dstv guide in Nigeria)

Dstv focus on local programming means that we also invest heavily in new content initiatives, and the training of Nigerian film crews and production staff. Our content partner M-Net’s investment in content includes the AfricaMagic channel, which showcases Nigerian movies to the rest of Africa, and the commissioning of new channels such as SuperSport Select. Our investment in bringing the world’s most popular shows to Nigeria has seen Big Brother Nigeria and Idols West Africa screened, and the production and television broadcast of Nigerian Football League matches.(Dstv multichoice, multichoice, dstv africa, dstv guide in Nigeria)

Nigeria’s film industry - Nollywood has become the world’s third largest producer of movies, and a key driver of the popularity of African content across the continent. MultiChoice and M-Net’s aim has always been to create great TV for Nigerian audiences, in partnership with the Nigerian TV industry. We have played a key role in the spread of Nollywood’s popularity across the continent, and we are committed to the continued success of this industry.(Dstv multichoice, multichoice, dstv africa, dstv guide in Nigeria)

As key supporters of the development of this industry, M-Net and MultiChoice have created valuable skills sharing initiatives aimed at building skills in the Nigerian film industry, providing training to some of the Nigerian industry’s most promising stars. We have invested in training to equip the interns with multi-camera, studio-based drama skills for the projects M-Net is producing in Nigeria.(Dstv multichoice, multichoice, dstv africa, dstv guide in Nigeria)

Nigeria is the base from which all of MultiChoice and its premium content provider M-net’s African content initiatives grew, starting with Doctors’ Quarters in 2005, the first Nigerian drama series premiered to DStv audiences. This was followed by Big Brother Nigeria (2006), which set records in the Nigerian TV industry as the first homegrown reality program screened 24 hours daily to a continental audience on DStv.
dstv multichoice, multichoice, dstv africa, dstv guide in Nigeria:Edge of Paradise debuted in 2006 as M-Net’s second Nigerian drama series. This was followed by game shows Temptation Nigeria, Deal or No Deal Nigeria and the popular talk show Moments with Mo. A new Nigerian drama series focussed on the glamour and power of Nollywood, Tinsel, debuted in 2008.

Social Responsibility(dstv multichoice, multichoice, dstv africa, dstv guide in Nigeria)

In Nigeria MultiChoice has established MultiChoice Resource Centres in one hundred and sixty one schools. The MRCs have been rolled out in partnership with the Ministry/Department of Education. The MRCs play an important role in providing access to information to schools, in particular rural schools, thereby helping to bridge the digital divide between schools with access to information and those without.(dstv multichoice, multichoice, dstv africa, dstv guide in Nigeria)

Information and technology

IT is the area of managing technology and spans wide variety of areas that include but are not limited to things such as processes, computer software, information systems, computer hardware, programming languages, and data constructs. In short, anything that renders data, information or perceived knowledge in any visual format whatsoever, via any multimedia distribution mechanism, is considered part of the domain space known as Information Technology (IT).

IT professionals perform a variety of functions (IT Disciplines/Competencies) that range from installing applications to designing complex computer networks and information databases. A few of the duties that IT professionals perform may include data management, networking, engineering computer hardware, database and software design, as well as management and administration of entire systems. Information technology is starting to spread farther than the conventional personal computer and network technology, and more into integrations of other technologies such as the use of cell phones, televisions, automobiles, and more, which is increasing the demand for such jobs.

In the recent past, the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology and the Association for Computing Machinery have collaborated to form accreditation and curriculum standards[3] for degrees in Information Technology as a distinct field of study as compared[4] to Computer Science and Information Systems today. SIGITE[5] is the ACM working group for defining these standards. The Worldwide IT services revenue totaled $763 billion in 2009.[6]

Information and communications technology or information and communication technology,[1]  usually called ICT, is often used as an extended synonym for information technology (IT) but is usually a more general term that stresses the role of unified communications and the integration of telecommunications (telephone lines and wireless signals), intelligent building management systems and audio-visual systems in modern information technology. ICT consists of all technical means used to handle information and aid communication, including computer and network hardware, communication middleware  as well as necessary software. In other words, ICT consists of IT as well as telephony, broadcast media, all types of audio and video processing and transmission and network based control and monitoring functions. The expression was first used in 1997 in a report by Dennis Stevenson to the UK government and promoted by the new National Curriculum documents for the UK in 2000.
ICT is often used in the context of "ICT roadmap" to indicate the path that an organization will take with their ICT needs.

The term ICT is now also used to refer to the merging (convergence) of audio-visual and telephone networks with computer networks through a single cabling or link system. There are large economic incentives (huge cost savings due to elimination of the telephone network) to merge the audio-visual, building management and telephone network with the computer network system using a single unified system of cabling, signal distribution and management. See VOIP and Intelligent Infrastructure Management (IIM). This in turn has spurred the growth of organizations with the term ICT in their names to indicate their specialization in the process of merging the different network systems.
A communications enabled application (CEA) is a set of information technology (IT) components and communication technology components that are integrated using a particular service-oriented architecture (SOA) to increase the productivity of an organization and/or improve the quality of users' experiences.

Communication enablement adds real-time networking functionality to an IT application. Providing communications capability to an IT application:
    * removes the human latency which exists when (i) making sense of information from many different sources, (ii) orchestrating suitable responses to events, and (iii) keeping track of actions carried out when responding to information received;
    * enables users to be part of the creative flow of content and processes.
What distinguishes a CEA from other software applications is its intrinsic reliance upon communications technologies to accomplish its objectives. A CEA depends on real-time networking capabilities together with such network oriented functions as location, presence, proximity, and identity.
Another distinguishing characteristic of a CEA is the implicit assumption that network services will be available as callable services within the SOA frameworks from which the CEA is constructed. To provide callable services, the network services which are available today must be made virtual and component-like.
CEAs apply to business processes as well as instances where no obvious business process which requires improvement exists (e.g., games, entertainment video). CEAs that apply to business processes are referred to as communications enabled business processes or communications enabled business solutions.
Importance

CEA are important for at least four reasons:
   1. The convergence of (i) CEA, (ii) broadband and (iii) millions of different devices connected to the network is expected to significantly affect the communications industry.
   2. CEA introduce a fundamental change in the way that information communications technology (ICT) applications and services are designed, developed, delivered, and used. To date, SOA has focused on building IT applications only and the network has been mostly deemed to be a transport pipe. CEA incorporate communications capability into any application. This requires that network services must be made virtual and component-like as well as callable within a SOA framework. CEA implementation entails a significant reorganization of present network management functionality.
   3. CEA bring together the richness of IT applications with the sophistication and intelligence of communications networks. This enables greater customization, greater simplification of interactions, and automatic adaptation to users' environments and preferences.
   4. Making network components from multiple vendors work in a mashup will be a major challenge. The service level agreements (SLAs) for these mashups will be difficult to define and deliver upon.

Make Money With Facebook, make money online, make money, free money online

Make Money With Facebook, make money online, make money, free money online: If you haven’t heard of Facebook by now, you must be one of the few people on the planet who hasn’t. It’s one of the biggest social networking sites on the internet, and as such it offers a great way to get in touch with like minded people who have similar interests to you.
But while many social networking sites don’t particularly like blatant advertising on their pages, Facebook doesn’t fall into that group. There are ways and means to do most things online, and with Facebook the answer is in attracting the right kind of people to your profile page.
There is one other main feature that makes Facebook well worth looking at for making money though, and that will be revealed if you read the rest of this entry.
If you’re ready to get started making money on Facebook,Click Here to read about a 23 year old guy who has made thousands of dollars a month using nothing but a Free Facebook Account!
Once you have signed up to Facebook your first step should be to think about how you want to present yourself. I say that because you don’t have to be yourself in order to make money from Facebook. Don’t forget that you want to attract the attention of a specific group of people here, so that you become known as someone who is something of an expert on one particular subject. So choose wisely!
Go for a popular niche that you have an interest in yourself, and develop your persona in that area. If you already have something of a web presence in this area then you’ll find it will help you as more and more people become aware of who you are and what you know about.
Your first port of call, if you have anything second hand to sell which is related to your niche, is the Marketplace. It’s free to place ads in the Marketplace and there is no limit on how many you can place, so if for example you come across a bargain lot of books on your subject on eBay or at a yard sale you can list them all individually on Facebook and sell them on for a profit.
If you have a budget to spend on advertising and you have some external websites you want to promote, you can try out the Social Ads to see what benefits you get from them. It is well worth reading through the relevant help section to see what is involved though, as it is quite in depth.
The main benefit to being a member of Facebook is that you can build and use any number of applications to perform certain tasks on your profile page. Facebook doesn’t frown at users making money from their Facebook page, and indeed many people link in to other websites outside of Facebook itself. People are constantly building new applications and many of them are used by many different users to create pages that appeal to their own particular needs.
This is partly why you will succeed in making more money from Facebook if you brand yourself carefully before you get started on the site. Figure out what it is you want to do and what you want to achieve. If you already have a website up and running then you will be able to link into that, so keep the look and feel of your Facebook page in the same vein as your site.
But while you can link to other sites outside of Facebook, some people also sprinkle some affiliate links on their actual Facebook page itself. For example, some quick research revealed one person who links into a range of ClickBank products on their page and does well from doing so.
So long as you start from a strong position with a particular focus and brand in mind, you can do well by experimenting with all the benefits that Facebook offers. Take time to build up a network of friends and make sure you become known for being an expert in your particular sphere of interest.
